  1. Those are the sweetest little birds Charlie. We don’t have them here in Edmonton. It is so nice to see birds from other areas.
It never used to be windy here in Central Alberta, but the last few years I think we can outdo Chicago!! I dislike the wind for a few reasons. But the description of you, Philippe and Elliot sitting in the sun sounds like heaven. Here in Alberta our winter started a couple of weeks ago. We have had quite a bit of snow (lots of shovelling) and it has been cold – last night was -28C so we had a nice fire going in our fireplace.
I can’t wait for spring! I am very tired of this cold weather we have been having of late and it doesn’t look like there is an end in sight yet.
Hugs and much love to the three of you.

    1. Thanks so much, Zoie! 😃💕 Yeah the wind is the worst… particularly when it a cold wind! Brrrrrr! I’m so ready for spring as well, however, we’ve had unseasonably warm days that pretty much count as spring. I’m now worried that summer is going to be so hot we’ll have to hide indoors much of the time. Hugs to you and much love! ❤️

  2. Nice! And he sounds like a great cook! I took out of the freezer a zucchini stew I forgot I’d laded with chili pepper flakes and added more after I put in cooked chicken. It was wonderful although I was afraid for my stomach with all that pepper. It was all good. I love to experiment!

  3. Lovely painting of the 2 birds and wonderful essay!
And this stood out to me: “But, those birds reminded me that even in the most chaotic of circumstances it’s still quite possible to find and enjoy a sense of calm and serenity.”
And now, to apply that to my days … 🙂

  4. I envy you your cook! Patrick is actually a better cook than I am, but seldom does it. I have little talent for it, and don’t particularly enjoy it. I’d be so happy if we could eat my paintings of food – they’d probably be more tasty, lol.

    1. LOL… I’m always thought the same thing! I can paint food that looks delicious, but when I make the real thing… it’s truly not. I’m horrible at cooking. But thankfully I have Philippe… he is an amazing cook! 😃💕

  5. Hola, Charlie! I love the twilight of the evening. It’s so beautiful. I know that I’ve shared this before, but I loved to be out running when the evening turned into twilight. The hill that I used to run up, overlooked the city’s skyline and at twilight, it was stunning! Either that or it was the lack of oxygen. 😂😂😂😂
A wonderful painting, Charlie. I won a gift card from Artistry by Altenew and I bought watercolor brush markers. I’m hoping to get back into crafting again. Of course, I hope that my fingers will allow me to. I haven’t crafted in a minute so I’m sure how it will look. 😂😂😂
Sending you much love and big hugs!

    1. Hola, mi amiga! 😃💕 Evening twilight really is a gorgeous time. And congrats on the new art supplies! They are now calling to you… make… create… go wild! You definitely have to DO it! Big hugs and much love! ❤️

  6. I’m not a big mac and cheese fan, but with lobster, I’m a fan! I can just taste the rich flavor! Your reflections on dealing with a disruptive wind gust and watching those two lovely birds carry on without a care are endearing. Have a wonderful rest-of-the-week and remember to “kiss the cook”! xo

    1. Thanks so much, Kathy! 😃💕 Yeah… I agree… mac and cheese on its own is just a bit too blah. hehe And I never forget to kiss the cook… he’s pretty cute! hehe 😉

  7. These birds are beautiful!!! Spring has to be my favorite time of year; seeing that Spring green appearing in the trees, listening to a chorus of birds singing their joy at the sun rising. Definitely a beautiful time of year

    1. Thanks so much, Mary! 😃💕 Spring is sooooo gorgeous! I adore all of the colors and, of course, the mild temps. I think it’s going to stay above freezing here now and buds are already starting to appear!
